Radio Meteor Observation in the World : Monthly Report for August 2017

This report provides results of monthly report in Augsut 2017 and major two meteor showers that were δ-Aquariids and Perseids 2017. These results were provided by The International Project for Radio Meteor Observation(IPRMO). δ-Aquarrids had a possiblity that was weaker activity than annual years. On the other hand, Perseids was same activity level and profile as annual years. delta-Aquariids 2017 From the end of July to first of August, δ-Aquariids peak came to us. Although the clear activity was observed in this year, it had a possibility that the activity level in this year was weaker than annual years. The estimated maximum level was 2.5 at solar longitude = 126°.50 (29th July). FWHM has -72.0 hours and +84.0 hours. The beginning of clear activity was aruond solar longitude =118°. The ending was around 138°. After the peak time, the dereasing speed was later around 132°-134°. You can see past results: http://www.amro-net.jp/meteor-results/07_aqrdelta.htm. Perseids 2017 Perseids 2017 showed the same activity level as annual years. The estimated peak time was around solar longitude = 139°.91 (16:30(UT) on 12th August) with maximum activity level = 1.5. FWHM had -13.0 hours and +18.0 hours. Although higher activities were observed in 2014 and 2016, 2017 came back to 2013 activity level (annual activity level). Radio Meteor Observations in the World: Monthly Reports for June and July 2017 by The International Project for Radio Meteor Observation(IPRMO). From this report, it is not only Japanese stations but also Europe, North America and South America. June, 2017 Following three graphs shows monitoring results in three area that are Europe at 10 observing stations, North America at four stations and Japan at eight stations. For the first and middle ten days, all areas observed high activity. It seems this was the activity of daytime meteor shower. Although some high activity levels which were above the usual level (0.0±0.4) except for the period of daytime shower actvitiy, some uncertain wheather occurred and some meteor activity may be due to observing errors. July, 2017 Following four graphs shows monitoring results in four areas that are Europe at 15 observing stations, North America at six stations, South America at three stations and Japan at eight stations. The last ten days, high activity was observed cleary in North, South America and Japan. It seems this activity was delta-Aquariids. As a reason of lower activity level in Europe, observing stations in Europe are higher latitude. Therefore, radiant elevation is lower than other areas. Radio Meteor Observations in the World: Monthly Reports for May 2017 by The International Project for Radio Meteor Observation(IPRMO). Eta-Aquariids 2017 One one the major meteor showers, Eta-Aquariids was active this month. The activity level was higher than in other years. Figure 1 shows the comparison between the average annual activity covering the period 2004-2017 (red line) and this year (circle with error). The peak around Solar Longitude=44°.3 was predicted peak by several researchers. This compornent was estimated as maximum activity level=1.1 at Solar Longitude 44°.32 (May 4th 20h30m(UT)) with Full Witdh Half Maximum(FWHM) -3.0hr / +3.0hr. The annual peak which has a peak around 45°.5 was shown around 45°.4-45°.6. This was estimated as maximum activity level=1.3 at 45°.41 (May 5th 23h30m(UT)) with FWHM: -48.0hr / +42.0hr.
